Are you new to mediation? (Read more on what mediation is here.) Some may view mediation as just another 'check box' to complete whether required by statute, court order, or in an existing order. At Viewpoint, we offer mediation services with an eye on actually resolving disputes and differences. That process begins with attempting to understand the issues, positions, perspectives and expectations of all parties - before the actual mediation takes place. Some mediators may have the parties show up to the scheduled mediation and spend time in the mediation session just getting up to speed on the issues. Often, parties have no idea what to expect in mediation and come unprepared. Viewpoint Dispute Resolution will attempt to contact all parties and/or each attorney prior to mediation to discuss the matter, expectations and to answer any questions regarding the matter to be mediated.
